110 new COVID-19 cases reported in NETN Friday, no change in active cases | WJHL

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Tennessee Department of Health reported 110 new COVID-19 cases, no new deaths, and 110 new inactive/recovered cases in Northeast Tennessee on Friday.

New Cases

New cases by county: Carter +12, Greene +12, Hawkins +9, Johnson +1, Sullivan +34, Unicoi +1, and Washington +41.

With 110 new cases, today marks the sixth day of triple-digit new cases.

Over the last seven days, Northeast Tennessee has added 924 new cases. During the seven days prior, the region reported 888 new cases.

There have been 54,392 cases reported in Northeast Tennessee since the pandemic began.

New Deaths

No new deaths were reported Friday in Northeast Tennessee.

Over the last seven days, Northeast Tennessee has reported eight new deaths. During the previous seven-day period, five deaths were reported.

There have been 1,030 deaths reported in Northeast Tennessee since the pandemic began.

Active Cases

Change in active cases by county: Carter +7, Greene -3, Hawkins -3, Johnson -2, Sullivan -6, Unicoi 0, and Washington +7.

There are currently 1,647 active cases in Northeast Tennessee, the same as yesterday. This snaps a five-day streak of increasing active cases.

Six counties have seen an increase in active cases over the past seven days, with Greene being the only county that experienced a decline.

COVID-19 in Tennessee

The Tennessee Department of Health reported 1,370 new cases statewide, increasing the state’s total to 830,484 cases.

The health department also reported 8 new deaths, bringing the state’s total to 12,049 deaths.

There are currently 13,934 active cases in Tennessee, up 181 from yesterday.

Health officials have reported 804,501 recoveries in Tennessee since the pandemic began.
