6 COVID-19 cases reported during first week of school in Montgomery County
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – As the first week of classes concluded, the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System reported a total of six positive COVID-19 cases, with half of those cases reported on Friday.
“We have had three positive cases today,” said Anthony Johnson, spokesman for CMCSS. “(We had) a case at a middle school, a case at a different middle school, and a case at an elementary school.”
Of the other three cases, two were reported Tuesday and one Thursday.
Privacy rules prevented CMCSS from providing additional information.
However, the Tennessee Department of Education will be releasing a dashboard next week that will identify schools with positive cases.
For schools reporting under five positive student or employee cases, the school will be listed without a specific number. CMCSS has not reached that threshold.
CMCSS and the Montgomery County Health Department follow the protocols of the Tennessee Department of Health in conducting contact tracing and communicating with families.
