Penn State and Centre Volunteers in Medicine are partnering once again this month to host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Bryce Jordan Center.

The clinic will be available from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23. Although drop-ins are welcome, appointments are encouraged and can be made online. First availability will be given to Penn State students, followed by university faculty and staff, as well as eligible community members.

More than 700 spots are available for the clinic, according to its online sign-up form.

The clinic will offer only Pfizer-BioNTech’s bivalent booster, which protects against the original virus strain and its Omicron variant, according to the Food and Drug Administration. Pfizer’s single-dose shot is approved for all individuals ages 12 and older who last received a COVID-19 vaccine dose at least two months ago.

Those who attend the clinic must wear a mask inside the Bryce Jordan Center and bring photo identification and their vaccine card. Patients must also sign a consent form and wait inside the arena for approximately 15 minutes after receiving their booster shot.

One-hour parking is available at the Bryce Jordan Center in the Jordan East parking lot located east of the arena. ADA-accessible parking is available at the corner of Curtin Road and Commuter Drive, according to the university.

In a statement, Penn State said it “strongly encourages” students and employees to stay up to date on their COVID-19 shots. The university does not require those vaccinations.

CVIM is currently slated to host additional booster clinics for community members in September and October at State College Area High School. More information, including a sign-up form, is available online.
