Gov. Wolf increasing the seating capacity to 50% on Sept. 21.

Gov. Tom Wolf is allowing Pennsylvania restaurants, including those in Erie County, to increase their seating to 50% of capacity, starting Sept. 21.

Restaurants have been limited to just 25% of capacity due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Any restaurant that wishes to ​increase to 50% percent indoor capacity on Sept. 21 must complete the online self-certification process by Oct. 5. Restaurants must adhere to certain state-mandated guidelines. The certification documents will be available online beginning Sept. 21.

In addition, participating restaurants that have alcohol sales will close alcohol sales at 10 p.m., according to the statement.

Also on Tuesday, Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper on Tuesday reported two new cases of COVID-19 in the county and no new deaths.

The Erie County Department of Health said that brings the total of cases to 1,395, with 11 cases being reported Saturday, three cases Sunday and three cases Monday.

Of those cases, 1,263 have recovered from COVID-19 and 47 have died. There are 85 active cases.

A total of 24,315 negative COVID-19 tests have been reported in the county through Monday morning, giving the county a 5.4% positive test rate.
