Larimer County reports 1,562 COVID-19 cases – Loveland Reporter-Herald
With 16 more confirmed cases and two probable cases added Tuesday, the number of COVID-19 cases in Larimer County stands at 1,562.
Loveland residents account for three of the new cases listed by the Larimer County Department of Public Health and Environment; the virus was confirmed in three Loveland men ages 22, 69 and 88.
The remainder of the new cases are in Fort Collins residents, ages 19 to 63.
Cases are considered confirmed when someone has tested positive using a molecular amplification detection test, such as a nasal swab test. Those people are currently ill and able to spread COVID-19 to others, according to the county website.
Probable cases are those with symptoms who were not tested or tested positive via an antibody test, those who were exposed to the virus and tested positive via an antibody test, or in the case of people who have died, those whose death certificates list COVID-19 disease or SARS-CoV-2 as a cause of death or significant condition contributing to death without positive test results to confirm the diagnosis.
Additionally, three more people were added to the list of suspect cases, bringing that count to 397.
The number of deaths from the virus remains unchanged at 35, and the number of outbreaks is unchanged at 32, of which 14 are active.
In all, 54,671 tests have been done in Larimer County, with some people tested more than once; 3.6% of tests have been positive.
The county’s risk assessment remains medium.
