The Florida Department of Health’s report Friday listed 951 confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Treasure Coast and 46 deaths.
St. Lucie County has 363 confirmed cases as of Friday, an increase of 14 new cases overnight, and 28 deaths. Martin County has 476 confirmed cases as of Friday, an increase of four, and nine deaths, including an additional death reported Friday. Indian River County has 112 cases as of Friday, an increase of two cases, and nine deaths.
Health officials have said the virus is not necessarily the cause of death, but they record people who at some point test positive for the virus and later die.
There are 182 people on the Treasure Coast who tested positive for the virus and have been hospitalized. Some of these people may no longer be hospitalized, according to state health officials.
