Climb Aboard for a Ride on the St

For an easy-to-grow, feel-good strain that’ll stretch your mind to new dimensions, take my hand and climb aboard the Starship. An old-school pure indica cross between Afghani 00 and Skunk #1, this particular Starship was crafted in Christiania, a self-proclaimed autonomous anarchist district of about 1,000 residents in Copenhagen, Denmark. Cannabis has been proclaimed legal in Christiania since 2017 and is sold at an open-air market dubbed Pusher Street.

How’d I end up with a dime bag of weed with roots in Denmark’s Green Light District? Let’s just say a friend of mine traveled there recently. When I mentioned to him my looming deadline to puff a J and write about it, he promptly rolled across the city with a sticky sample. “This plant grew roots as I’ve never seen before,” he says, preferring to remain anonymous but thrilled to bestow a bit of bud for this review. “I had to use a knife to tear apart the soil when I was cleaning out my pots.

It was like trying to rip apart a basketball.” Bred from two mighty gene pools, Starship is an extra-fast blooming, heavy-duty plant. It produces a generous yield — up to 800g per square meter under 600W HPS with flowering triggered approximately three weeks from seed. Since Starship prefers to branch out rather than up, it’s an excellent strain for indoor growers. Outdoor growers, too, can expect big dense blossoms by October with little effort.

Starship will grow to about five feet with minimal training and even less water. “It does not like wet feet,” advised my friend. “It easily showed stress from watering, even when pots seemed to be dry.” From a consumer perspective, Starship features earthy and sweet flavors requiring only one or two tokes for a quick launch into stellar spaces. Up there, in between the stars, users will feel an overall sense of wellbeing, both physically and mentally. Additionally, Starship’s couchlock qualities are otherworldly, making sedentary lockdown hobbies, like painting, remarkably pleasurable for hours on end. Are you ready for takeoff?
