Cut & Dried Strain Review: Summer Fling

If we have to stay in lockdown for much longer, Summer Fling may be my only opportunity for romance this year.

Summer flings are brief, bewitching relationships that, more often than not, leave one feeling vibrant, happy, and alive. They’re incredibly fun (from what I’ve heard) and Aurora’s hybrid strain definitely lives up to its label.

From the moment all 3.5 grams of this machine-trimmed, hand-groomed (and handsome) bud arrived at my door flaunting pale green flowers, I was smitten. I adored the weed’s bright orange hairs and distinctly tropical cologne. Summer Fling smelled of fresh mangos, lemongrass, and sweet basil, an exhilarating combination of terpenes that I won’t soon forget.

A small kiss (okay, puff) left me feeling lightheaded and dreamy for just over an hour — basically what you’d expect from cannabis with a THC potency between eight and 12 per cent. While I would have much preferred to watch the sunset at Riverdale Park in Toronto, current social distancing rules kept our date indoors.

But with eyes closed, anything is possible. It was easy to imagine myself lounging in the park on a warm day with my Summer Fling instead of where I actually was: snuggled on the couch with my dog. Regardless, my body was tranquil and my thoughts serene. I felt euphoric.

Even though we met online through the Ontario Cannabis Store, and I’m not a fan of online dating (or online shopping), our first evening together was incredibly relaxed. Far more laid back than any encounter I’ve had with the ever-so-energetic Jack Herer. He and I are not a match.

I discovered Summer Fling was born in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, drinks crystal clear mountain water, and is part of an award-winning company that grows medical marijuana for all. Now that’s dope.

As an alternative to the real deal, Summer Fling is indeed worth getting to know. It promises a smooth, satisfying, no-strings-attached experience that commitment-phobe consumers in this coronavirus lockdown will love.
