Strain Review: Grape Crush

It’s February, I’m out of life-giving CBD, and have about two high-energy hours to spare in a typical 16-hour day, so I proceed with caution. Even something as simple as calmly cutting open an Amazon box rather than viciously tearing through tape and cardboard is a move noted for its kilojoule savings. As I push toward the finish line of this pandemic winter and into a new year of discontent, I’m practicing the art of slowing down and it’s been incredibly therapeutic.

You may have heard the cannabis strain, Grape Crush (like crushed grapes), is best consumed after a certain hour. Toke it after a long day at the home office, they say. Perfect for a late-night smoke, they say. Don’t plan on doing anything, they say. So I do just the opposite.

Slow and Steady Wins the Race

Rather than blow through all my energy in the morning, I’m attempting to disperse it throughout the day with the help of an indica-dominant Grape Crush gummy. I consume my DIY snail-shaped edible with breakfast and think of the slow but relentless tortoise in the old fable, The Tortoise and the Hare.

Heavy and cerebral at the same time with 12 percent THC, Grape Crush is the answer to unwanted frenzy, even (or especially) at home. A small dose of Grape Crush in the morning will have you progress through the day more deliberately, with heavy eyelids and a buoyant mind.

As it feels like a weighted hoodie, Grape Crush is also a great escape for individuals who suffer from what the strain can prevent: anxiety and insomnia. In high doses, the tranquillizing and euphoric effects of Grape Crush can linger for up to 12 hours.

Growing Grape Crush at Home

With a penchant for cooler climates, Grape Crush will thrive outdoors in the northern hemisphere, even boasting purple leaves as the temperature drops. Flowering at eight to nine weeks, the strain typically yields up to 500 grams of crystal buds once mature, whether it’s grown indoors or outside. Grape Crush exhibits a sweet berry flavor, acquired from its Blueberry parents and a bittersweet aroma that has been compared to sour grapes.

Despite what “they” say, we can enjoy Grape Crush any time of day. As the tortoise teaches us, the finish line is ours when we decide to slow down. What’s the rush? Get there by strolling with Grape Crush.
